皇家投手王建民，好投表現獲得教練團信任，在跟印地安人4連戰的第2場比賽時登板後援，1.2局的投球，只因為隊友暴傳丟掉1分，紀錄上已經連續7場沒有責失分，防禦率再下降，到2.11，可惜皇家最後1:6輸球，系列賽吞下2連敗。

球賽主播：「打者打成滾地球二壘手接到，先傳二壘再傳一壘雙殺守備。」

就用一球，抓到2個出局數，王建民在7局下登板，化解危機，8局下王建民續投，先是讓打者打成左外野飛球出局，但接下來面對JoseRamirez，改用曲球，就被抓到。

球賽主播：「這球被咬中沿著邊線，左外野方向的飛球。」

不過這還不是重傷害，而是JoseRamirez準備盜三壘的時候，捕手的傳球直接傳到了左外野。

球賽主播：「壘上跑者走了要盜三壘，捕手傳球發生失誤球滾到了左外野。」

這個失誤，讓印地安人多得1分，王建民也沒受到影響，用連續2個滾地球，完成投球任務，王建民只用了11個球，投了1.2局，最快球速93英里，被打1支安打，丟掉1分不是自責分，防禦率再下降到2.11，連續7場比賽沒有責失分，但最後皇家還是1:6輸球，在跟印地安人4連戰的系列賽當中，吞下2連敗，第3場比賽將要在台灣時間6月5日早上7點開打，也將送上現場直播，王建民有機會連2場出賽，球迷千萬不要錯過。（民視新聞張鎮麟、游博智綜合報導）
