王建民效力的白襪隊，昨天（5月29日）在9局下半連追7分，演出驚人的大逆轉，讓王建民因此拿下勝投，今天（5月30日）皇家在第8局又再度上演逆轉秀，這次一口氣攻下3分，終場就以5：4擊敗白襪，白襪苦吞最近的6連敗，也把美聯中區第1的位子，拱手讓給3連勝的皇家隊。
最近吞下5連敗的白襪，今天派出王牌「非賣品」塞爾（Chris Sale）把關，但塞爾在第1局就被打出3支安打先丟2分，塞爾從第2局開始穩定下來，完全封鎖皇家火力，塞爾主投7局只失2分，投出7次三振，一掃前一場被打爆的陰霾，塞爾退場時白襪還以4：2領先皇家，但沒想到牛棚依舊守不住。
坎恩（Lorenzo Cain）的陽春砲吹起皇家反攻號角，接著皇家再靠著2支安打和1個保送攻佔滿壘，輪到昨天幫助王建民拿下勝投的菜鳥艾伯納（Brett Eibner），追平比數的皇家，當然不會放棄這個逆轉戰局的機會，卡斯伯特（Cheslor Cuthbert）唯一的1支安打，讓皇家再演逆轉秀，白襪後援投手瓊斯（Nate Jones）守不住領先2分的優勢，反觀皇家終結者戴維斯（Wade Davis）則是一如往常的穩健，順利保住僅僅1分的超前，皇家終場就以5：4，擊敗白襪，3連戰橫掃白襪，皇家重回美聯中區第1的寶座。（民視新聞綜合報導）
